Mark Millar writes us a Christmas wrap-up of 2005 and a sneak peak of 2006 from his sickbed. Apparently he can't write much and he is watching Buffy DVDs while recuperating. (I can't understand why someone that sick still wants to drink.) But the Sunday Herald had an article on 1985, the multi-million dollar Millar-written project that Marvel is doing in a unique way, by using photographers and actors to create a photo-story. You've got to give both Marvel and Millar credit for trying something so off-the-wall. Newsarama had a story on Civil War, Millar's 2006 mini-series that wants to get some Crisis glory. Civil War starts in the New Avengers: The Illuminati special. Yeah, I thought the Illuminati thing was a bit blatant since the Da Vinci Code is a big hit, but Marvel's Illuminati is a ruling council made up of guys like Reed Richards, Tony Stark, Charles Xavier, Prince Namor, Black Bolt, and Dr. Strange. They do something outrageous and conflict follows. The Marvel Universe will never be the same again, true believers! Quesada promises that this will "exceed HoM". Despite my cynical tone, I think it will, with Millar on the script and Steve McNiven on the art, this seems like a dream team. Nuff said.
