Doctor Strange Gallery now open
One of my favorite Marvel characters has always been Dr. Strange. He was the coolest character back in the day, yet no one seems to have a good handle on him now. Stan Lee and Steve Ditko had an excellent run, and I loved the subsequent efforts of Roy Thomas, Gene Colan, Steve Englehart, Frank Brunner, Roger Stern, Marshall Rogers, and Paul Smith. I've put together the Dr. Strange Gallery, featuring my favorite covers from Doc's many adventures. In addition, I've come uploaded some scans of a Dr. Strange portfolio by Michael Golden. This was sold on a limited basis in the 80s and is long out of print. Golden drew a wonderful issue of Dr. Strange written by Roger Stern, issue 55, published in 1982. I suppose given Golden's low volume of output, we were lucky to have that one issue. I've put some other gems in here from Brunner, Rogers, Smith, and Colan. Nuff said.

Wow! It has been a long time since I've seen any old Golden stuff. I forgot how good he was.
I was first exposed to his stuff in Micronauts #4 and loved every moment of his run. Of course, I was 8 at the time so that book still goes down as one of my all time favorites.
I think I need to dig out and reread his The 'Nam from back in the late 80s too.

Firstly, I'll address the fact that Michael Golden had always been my all-time favorite artist when I was growing up.
I bought EVERYTHING and ANYTHING his work graced (even if it was just a cover).
His Doctor Strange "Marvel Marching Confusion" print was the BEST spent 50 cents that I ever taped to a card, stuffed in an envelope and mailed away. His Dr. Strange Portfolio remains a treasured work in my collection.
Now, onto your cover selctions...
How on EARTH could you have left out the cover to DOCTOR STRANGE # 169?
(his "1st" issue)
TRULY one of THE BEST covers in the history of the medium.
Dan Adkins may have been a swipe-artist (waay too much evidence just in the Strange Tales / Dr Strange run to refute it), but that cover is pure, unadulturated comics greatness.
At least, that's MY favorite DOC cover.
