Dawnstar's Back In Legion of Super Heroes 15

Yeesss! My favorite futuristic Indian squaw tracker is back in the 31st century...

"It's the Legion of Super-Heroes you thought you'd never see, as the greatest heroes of the 31st century become the greatest heroes of the Multiverse!" Dawnstar, Tyroc, and Blok are back in issue 15, hoohah! I missed Dawnstar. I thank Barry Kitson for not changing her classic cleavage-revealing costume. Now you might be asking, who is this? She looks like Pocahontas in the future!

Dawnstar is a mutant, born with wings that allow her to fly through outer space. She doesn't need a spacesuit either, which convenient for you lonely and horny fanboys. Dawnstar can track anything with pinpoint accuracy through light years of space. Whoever dreamed this character up was smokin weed and listening to the Age of Aquarius on their 8-track tape. Either that or they saw A Man Called Horse too many times.

You could tell from this page that writer Paul Levitz had some doubts about the character: "I'm supposed to have earned my Legion membership with my tracking abilities, even if they are of little use when I have no trail to follow, and hyper-warps between me and my quarry!" You might tend to think that she is little use on the ground, but it ain't so...

...here Dawnstar is forced into a little catfight over a man. Her wings had been clipped and just freshly regrown, so she's *grounded*. That little redhead doesn't stand a snowball's chance in hell.

Dawnstar's like no other chick in the DC Universe. Look how sexy she is, avoiding those sun flares. Pretty smart, too, tracking down Timber Wolf in LSH v1 289 before he can complete a pass at Saturn Girl.

I do like this nice drawing that Mike Grell did for a fan. You cannot improve on that costume. That body is like no other...full figured...kind of like JLo in outer space. Nuff said.
